Candidate Profile You can work independently You are at least 21 years old and ready to join our team Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record Experience behind the wheel of a box truck Great time‑management skills to ensure each route is completed on time Can get the job done! Represent the company well when interacting with donors Job Responsibilities Safely maneuver a 24‑foot box truck through residential streets and tight locations Complete pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections Receive donations from donors at home pickups or box locations Return to the store and unload all the donations Sort, stack and process donations by category Safely transport materials to and from work area using hand trucks, pallet jacks, other lifting devices and/or employee assistance Share information about our charity partners and our mission with our donors Complete daily residential routes to collect clothing, small furniture, and other household items from donors, donation boxes, and designated sites Conduct inspections of truck ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations Safely navigate and operate a 24/26‑foot box truck through residential streets and confined spaces Deliver outstanding customer service to both customers and donors Maintain communication with the supervisor to accommodate changes in donor requests Uphold a courteous, respectful, and friendly demeanor when interacting with the public Collaborate with the Driver Helper to load and unload materials from vehicles, pallets, carts, racks, shelves, etc. Transport materials to and from storage or work sites using hand trucks, pallet jacks, or other lifting devices, with assistance when needed Efficiently sort, stack, and process incoming donations by category (e.g., clothing, miscellaneous items, electrical) in a safe and organized manner Safely operate compactors and large trash receptacles when required Adhere to all safety protocols by wearing and maintaining personal protective equipment (PPE) Perform other duties as assigned by management Skills and Qualifications Must be at least 21 years old Must have strong navigation skills Must be available to work flexible hours, including Monday through Sunday, and adhere to DOT‑regulated driving hours Should be adaptable with daily schedules to ensure all donor and box routes are completed Successful completion of background check, motor vehicle check, and drug screen Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record Physical Demands Frequently: Carrying, pushing and pulling up to 70 lbs., lifting up to 70 lbs., balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, handling, and smelling Frequently: Twisting, turning, bending to inspect the vehicle, secure cargo, or handle emergencies Continuously: Sitting for extended periods while maintaining focus during long‑haul driving Continuously: Extended periods of sitting, possibly in a confined space, with limited movement and need to manage fatigue over long shifts Other Mostly regular hours, occasionally working weekends, evenings and holiday hours as needed Other duties as assigned: Please note that this job description may not cover every duty or responsibility that might arise in the course of employment.
