Radiation Therapist

Job Summary and Responsibilities Greets patient utilizing AIDET, verifies patient identification, and reviews chart for proper radiation treatment parameters and physician prescriptions. Informs patients and families about the treatment process and answers questions. Prepares patients for treatment and positions equipment according to plan. Takes portal films or IGRT scans to ensure treatment protocols are accurately set up and followed. Verifies proper dosage of ionizing radiation for patient as prescribed by physician. Monitors patient throughout treatment by checking video monitors and intercom. Informs physician whenever patient experiences distress or side effects related to treatment. Records each patient’s treatment in EMR and documents proper notes for accurate treatment and set‑up. Makes sure of current trends and developments in the field by reading appropriate journals, books, and other literature, and by attending related seminars, conferences, and educational opportunities. Compensation and Benefits $5,000 sign‑on bonus plus $10,000 educational assistance available to external candidates. Job Requirements Education Satisfactory completion of a JRCERT‑accredited Radiation Therapy Program. Licenses & Certifications ARRT (T) board completion within 6 months of hire. BLS from the American Heart Association required upon hire. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge of linear accelerators and record‑and‑verify systems. Ability to operate radiation therapy equipment. Ability to manage patients. Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
