Position Summary

A Plus Public Adjusting is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and customer-focused Desk Adjuster / Claims Coordinator to manage insurance claims from intake through settlement. This individual will serve as the primary point of contact for clients, insurance carriers, contractors, and vendors while ensuring every claim progresses efficiently and professionally.

The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, communicates exceptionally well, can manage multiple claims simultaneously, and takes ownership of seeing each claim through to completion.

While this is primarily an office-based position, the employee may occasionally be required to visit job sites, attend inspections, meet clients, or assist with field-related claim activities as needed.

Primary Responsibilities

Claims Management

• Open and organize new insurance claims.
• Maintain accurate claim files and documentation.
• Monitor claim progress from initial loss through final settlement.
• Ensure all deadlines and follow-up dates are met.
• Prepare and submit claim documentation to insurance carriers.
• Track outstanding payments and claim statuses.

Client Communication

• Serve as the primary contact for policyholders.
• Keep clients informed throughout the claims process.
• Explain claim procedures in a clear and professional manner.
• Respond promptly to calls, emails, and text messages.
• Provide outstanding customer service during what is often a stressful time for clients.

Insurance Carrier Coordination

• Schedule inspections with insurance adjusters.
• Communicate with carrier representatives regarding claim status.
• Follow up on estimates, supplements, approvals, and payments.
• Escalate delayed claims when appropriate.

Administrative Duties

• Maintain organized electronic claim files.
• Upload photographs, estimates, invoices, and supporting documentation.
• Prepare correspondence and claim-related forms.
• Manage calendars, inspections, and appointment scheduling.
• Assist with billing, payment tracking, and general office operations.

Field Assistance (Occasional)

As business needs require, the employee may:

• Visit loss locations.
• Attend insurance inspections.
• Meet with clients.
• Deliver or collect documentation.
• Photograph property damage.
• Assist public adjusters during inspections.

Travel for these duties is occasional and typically local.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in insurance, public adjusting, restoration, construction, property management, or customer service is preferred but not required.
• Familiarity with Xactimate, XactAnalysis, Dash, or other insurance software is a plus.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.

Physical Requirements

• Primarily an office-based position.
