QIAGEN seeks a Scientific Product Owner for their Digital Insights clinical interpretation software. The role combines genomics expertise with product ownership, translating scientific and customer requirements into actionable specifications for development teams working on hereditary disease and somatic cancer NGS interpretation platforms.
Responsibilities
- Own product backlog for assigned releases; write and refine user stories and acceptance criteria
- Translate scientific and customer needs into clear software requirements for development
- Lead refinement sessions and serve as scientific voice to resolve domain questions
- Test new features from scientific perspective and confirm requirements coverage
- Assess reported issues for severity, patient safety, and clinical usability impact
Requirements
- MS or PhD in genetics, molecular biology, genomics, or related life science
- 2+ years interpreting clinical NGS data in clinical lab, research, or testing
- Knowledge of variant classification guidelines (ACMG/AMP) and genomic data formats
- 1+ year as product owner, business analyst, or requirements specialist on software product
- Familiarity with agile development (Scrum/Kanban) and tools like Jira and Confluence
- Strong scientific and technical writing in English
- Ability to coordinate across functions and US/European time zones
Compensation: $120,000–$165,000 base
