Join SOM’s Year One Program as a Junior Designer - Landscape Architecture Our Year One Program provides the missing link between formal education and industry experience, offering hands‑on work in dynamic studio settings while leveraging the resources of a global organization. Responsibilities Contribute to the development of project aspects under direct supervision of project leadership. Exhibit initiative, process innovation, problem‑solving, and decision quality with high precision and accuracy at a task‑specific level. Produce presentation and contract deliverables such as diagrams, 3D models, drawings, renderings, physical models, and animations. Communicate effectively internally through timely written, oral, and visual means. Create and innovate with strong conceptual design ability and a strong interdisciplinary focus. Collaborate at the project team level, critically and constructively evaluating ideas. Demonstrate a basic understanding of landscape and site‑related materials, systems, specifications, codes, details, and construction techniques. Possess elementary knowledge of Architecture and Planning disciplines. Use appropriate tools to design and document throughout all project phases. Manage time and workload to meet project task deadlines and commitments with frequent interaction with Project Leadership. Minimum Qualifications Recent completion of a professional degree (Landscape Architecture or related field). Strong collaborative ability. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Rhino, parametric and rendering software, and Adobe® Suite. Proficiency in Google Workspace.
