About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years' experience required License: Active nursing license required Certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIHSS required Must-Have: - Minimum 2 years of telemetry or step-down experience - Experience in cardiac telemetry - Skills in IV start and telemetry monitoring - Ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias Description: This position requires a registered nurse specializing in telemetry. The nurse must have experience working with cardiac telemetry patients. The unit will accept first-time travelers, with step-down experience preferred. Candidates must be capable of managing a patient ratio of 1:6. The average daily census for the unit is around 23 patients. Nurses are expected to float within the facility as required. Weekend shifts are required, with a minimum of 8 weekend shifts per contract. The patient population includes those with cardiac arrhythmias, myocardial infarction, acute coronary syndrome, uncontrolled diabetes, diabetic ketoacidosis, heart failure, and post-operative cardiac care. Special procedures include monitoring cardiac drips, but there is no titration for blood pressure. Nurses must display teamwork and adaptability as there are no charge nurses on the unit. Quality patient care is essential, and nurses must handle high acuity patients. Candidates must possess strong communication and collaboration skills. All EKG testing is required prior to the start of this position.
