PSC Registration RepresentativePSC Registration Representative - Lake Orion, MI, Monday to Friday, 9:00 to 5:30 PM, with rotational weekendsResponsible for all PSC (Patient Service Center) front office duties. Treat all customers in a courteous mannerEnsure patient registration is completed accurately and on timeData entry as neededCall clients to confirm handwritten orders, verify test(s) ordered, obtain accurate billing information, i.e. Diagnosis codes, UPIN information, etc.Handles customer inquiries by telephone and in-personCollects payment, if applicable.Maintains required records and documentation.Reads, understands, and complies with departmental policies, protocols and procedures: (i.e. Procedure Manuals, Safety Manual, Compliance Manual, Employee Handbook, Quality Assurance Manual).Assists with compilation of monthly statistics and data.Performs basic clerical duties, i.e. filing, faxing, preparing mail.Demonstrates organizational commitment and values of Quest DiagnosticsAdheres to departmental and company policiesReports on time to work, following attendance guidelines.Answers the telephone in a friendly and helpful manner, by incorporating the company name, self-identification and a helpful statement.Use established protocols for reporting customer complaints.Ensures that HIPPA Compliance regulations are followed; uses test translation tables.Completes all required training.Orders necessary supplies.Other duties as required to meet the customer requirements.Completes special projects as requested by supervisor or manager.QualificationsJob Qualifications (Work Experience, Physical & Mental Requirements, Knowledge, Skills)Required Work Experience:One year customer service experienceKeyboard/data entry and PC experiencePhysical and Mental Requirements:Extensive use of phone and PC.Prolong standing/sittingFine dexterity with hands/steadiness.Able to lift up to 25 pounds; carrying up to 15 pounds for several minutes at a time.TalkingVision - requires constant mental visual attention to details.WalkingBalancing 9. Bending/KneelingPushing/PullingReaching/TwistingKnowledge:Medical Terminology preferred.The position requires the ability to effectively communicate in English.Skills:Must be flexible and available based on staffing requirements, weekends, holidays, and overtime.Must have strong communication skills. Able to speak clearly and effectively communicate to customers and peer groups.Demonstrates good organization, communication, and interpersonal skills.Capable of handling multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.Type at least 30 WPM, accurately.
