Job Summary:
The operating room (OR) nurse position is located in Springfield, Illinois. This role involves providing specialized perioperative care across various service lines, including trauma and general surgery procedures. Candidates are required to bring their professional license on the first day of assignment. The position offers a schedule of four 10-hour shifts from 8:45 AM to 7:15 PM, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.

Job Details:

• Location: Springfield, Illinois
• Schedule: Four days per week, 10-hour shifts, 8:45 AM - 7:15 PM, minimum 40 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Active Illinois license (in hand or in application process), minimum of 3 years' operating room experience, BLS certification required, CNOR certification preferred, Cerner electronic medical record experience preferred.
• Certifications: BLS required; CNOR preferred
• Experience: Minimum 3 years' general OR and trauma experience, including laparoscopic assisted cases, general surgery procedures (e.g., appendectomy, cholecystectomy), neurology, orthopedic, plastic, transplant, urology, trauma, and emergency management skills.
• Additional Information: Candidates must have experience with all relevant equipment and supplies such as electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources, and Hana tables. The role necessitates familiarity with infection control, radiation safety, universal protocol (time out) procedures, and urinary bladder catheterization.
• Float: Necessary for all travelers; candidates will float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals.
• Fallback and submission requirements: Please provide 2-3 interview times upon submission. SSN and date of birth are required at time of submittal. All required certifications must be valid and in possibly position-specific. Candidates must have separated from any previous perm/PRN roles for 12 months before applying.
