Coater Mechanic

Starting pay: $35.53 plus overtime available

Shift: 6PM – 6AM on the 223 schedule

Job Description

Essential Job Functions:

• Essential Job Functions:
  • Adjusts and/or repair all equipment in the department
  • Inspects products for defects and record results on required forms
  • Inform supervisor if any defects are found
  • Perform all required quality checks and document them as required
  • Reject material that does not meet specifications and provide samples as required
  • Lubricate all equipment in the department as required
  • Sets up and performs changeovers. Follows schedule as published
  • Occasional forklift operation
  • Observe all rules of safety

Job Requirements:

• Proven background in manufacturing or similar production environment

• Ability to read and comprehend blueprints and drawings

• Ability to use measuring hand tools to set up and maintain all can line machinery and associated equipment

• Critical and logical thinking ability

• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

• Possess ability for basic computer skills

• Ability to work with little supervision

• Able to work at heights including use of steps and ladders

Experience/Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Journeyman Mechanic plus

• 2+ years as an Industrial Mechanic in a manufacturing environment

Preferred Requirements:

• Lift truck driver’s certification

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to kneel, stoop, crawl, squat, and stand for extended periods, while running machinery up to 12 hours

• Must possess adequate upper body strength to repeatedly pull or push hand tools in order to make, repair, or adjust parts and/or machines

• Ability to lift 40 pounds

• Ability to be in constant motion about 50-70% of shifts
