The Retail Assistant Manager plays a vital role in supporting the Store Manager by overseeing daily store operations and driving sales. Responsible for managing a medium-sized team, this role focuses on team development, strategic planning, and maintaining excellent customer service standards. The Assistant Manager ensures smooth functioning of the store through effective inventory control, staff training, and loss prevention measures while utilizing standard retail software tools.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage a medium team of 6-15 employees
- Monitor and analyze sales performance to meet targets
- Control inventory levels and coordinate stock replenishment
- Deliver exceptional customer service and resolve issues promptly
- Conduct staff training and development initiatives
- Implement visual merchandising standards to enhance store appearance
- Handle cash transactions accurately and securely
- Enforce loss prevention policies and procedures
- Collaborate with Store Manager on strategic planning and store improvements
- Occasional travel for training and professional development
Required Qualifications
- Proficiency with standard retail software, including POS and inventory systems
