Moves, positions, and manipulates radiographic equipment to complete requested procedures safely. Performs direct patient care duties within the technologist's scope of practice, including monitoring patient condition, transporting patient, and using proper infection control techniques. Ensures exam rooms are clean, stocked, and ready for use, and that all equipment undergoes routine cleaning and safety checks. Notifies appropriate personnel when inventory is low. Cross-trains into advanced modalities as needed. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledgeable in all aspects of Diagnostic Imaging to include Surgery and Trauma Previous Radiologic Technologist experience [Preferred] One year post certification experience required to evaluate and/or instruct student radiographers Ability to analyze and assess data, techniques, methodology, equipment operation, and quality control to ensure that information is obtained and presented accurately Up-to-date knowledge of patient positioning and equipment operations, including x-ray producing equipment, if applicable per facility Ability to communicate appropriately and effectively with patients and their family, hospital staff, nurses, physicians, and other health care professionals Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the health care industry Able to fully use all Radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment Must be able to read, write and speak conversational English Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office Must be able to use computer system for data entry and retrieval Patient care skills to care for Infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patient populations Must be able to independently perform radiographic procedures to departmental standards Demonstrates ability to follow written and verbal instructions effectively Ability to learn and use radiology software packages such as Cerner, Radnet, PACS, etc. Maintain responsibility for all required registries and licenses to perform Diagnostic Imaging Responsible to maintain all required continuing and annual education Knowledge of Diagnostic Radiological Procedures/Positions Ability to determine appropriate technical factors Ability to learn and master new tasks related to Image Quality and Radiation Safety Ability to communicate effectively and work with people of various diverse backgrounds Adult/and child/infant CPR [Required] Ability to perform radiographic procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail Knowledge of communication styles and constant deployment of proper engagement behaviors when encountering patients, staff, and physicians This position requires knowledge of the use of computerized and radiographic equipment to perform diagnostic procedures in a manner consistent with minimal radiation exposure and maximum image quality The ability to communicate and receive instructions, verbally and written and carry them out as directed Education: Associate [Preferred] Bachelor's [Preferred] High School Grad or Equiv [Required] Work Experience: 1+ year experience preferably in radiology or a new graduate of accredited radiologic technology program Additional Information: Additional Licensure or certification requirements may apply depending on the specific unit or state in which this position is located.
