Registered Nurse - Operating Room

Job Description

Job Summary:

RN Surgery provides skilled nursing care for surgical patients in the Operating Room, supporting safe, efficient perioperative workflows. This per diem role focuses on maintaining patient safety standards and delivering high-quality clinical support before, during, and after procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct perioperative nursing care to surgical patients in the Operating Room.
• Prepare and maintain sterile fields, ensuring adherence to infection prevention standards.
• Assess patients and monitor vital signs, reporting changes promptly to the surgical team.
• Assist with intraoperative documentation and medication/therapy administration per protocol.
• Coordinate pre-procedure and post-procedure nursing activities to support continuity of care.
• Maintain compliance with BLS/ACLS/PALS/NRP guidelines and emergency response practices as applicable.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active nursing license and be able to complete nursing license verification.
• Maintain current BLS certification.
• Maintain current ACLS certification as applicable.
• Maintain current PALS and NRP certifications as applicable.
• Provide proof of MMR and Varicella vaccination or valid attestation of vaccination/declination.
• Demonstrate strong clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork in a fast-paced surgical environment.
