Now Hiring -  Massage Therapist (Lawrence, KS) 

Hours: Tues- Fri (8:30am-5:00pm) 

The  MassageTherapist will be responsible for:

1. Demonstrates basic knowledge of the purpose, intent, and function of massage therapy for various client populations.
2. Demonstrates basic knowledge of philosophical, psychological, physiological, and sociological bases for the use of massage therapy.
3. Demonstrates basic knowledge of the use of current technologies in massage therapy assessment, treatment and evaluation.
4. Provide massage treatments to patient when there is an expectation that it will be advantageous to the patient.
5. Reviews patient's chart and all medical history prior to initiating treatments.
6. Works within the massage therapy scope of practice. Considers contraindications, patient limitations, and precautions when planning the patient's treatment sessions.
7. Consults with the RN Case Manager, Regional Manager or Director of Clinical Services, if there is a question as to whether the patient's condition is contraindicated for massage therapy.
8. Creates a physical environment (e.g. arrangement of space, furniture, equipment, etc.) that is conducive to effective therapy.
9. Documents all patient visits according to Ascend Hospice charting policies, in the EMR program within 24 hours of visit.
10. Communicates as an active member of the interdisciplinary team(s).
11. Coordinates treatment plan with interdisciplinary team.
12. Attend Team Meetings and/or IDT as requested
13. Safeguards all patient information according to HIPAA regulations.
14. Respects the patient's right to refuse, modify, or terminate treatment at any time.
15. Conducts all practices with a high level of integrity and in an ethical manner.
16. Maintains equipment and supplies in a sanitary manner according to universal precautions.
17. Complete annual on-going training/continuing education.
18. Participates in the QAPI hospice performance improvement program
19. Willingness to maintain comprehensive working knowledge regarding information systems and applicable software programs

Education:

Graduate of a massage therapy program accredited by the Commission on Massage Therapy Accreditation (COMTA)

Professional Experience:

• 2-4 years of related experience, preferably with some hospice experience. An understanding of the emotional and physical issues pertaining to end-of-life clients
