This role provides friendly, helpful service that ensures customers leave with a positive impression of SCHEELS.What We Commit To – Our Employee Ownership Values:Delivering a Personalized WOW Customer ExperienceHaving a Team-First, Winning MentalityLearning and Adapting to Constant ChangeTaking Pride in Our Work and Thinking Like OwnersExpecting Honesty and Integrity in All That We DoResponsibilities:Greet all customers with a smile when entering and exiting the storeEnhance the customer experience by engaging in conversation while providing personalized service and consistently meeting the goals of the digital receipt programAccurately scan every item customers are purchasing, ensuring all merchandise is properly rung through and paid for before the customer leaves the storeTreat merchandise with care, and bag purchases carefully and efficientlyPromote the Scheels Visa card and clearly explain all benefitsAsk every customer to sign up for digital receiptsEnd each transaction by saying "thank you" to every customerPerform basic math, calculate discounts, make change, and accurately balance the cash drawerOperate the computerized register system and follow all cash handling policiesMaintain an awareness of in-store events and promotionsKeep the checkout area stocked and cleanEducation & Experience:High school diploma or GED preferred1-3 months of cashiering experience preferredPhysical Requirements/Lifting Requirements:Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation. Medium work – Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Associates are expected to follow all safety procedures and perform their job duties in a fashion that minimizes the risk of injury.Schedule:Must be flexible to work assigned schedule between 10a.m.-4:00p.m., Monday through Friday. Some weekends required. Schedule may include varied hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
