Auto Service Technician – Level 1The Auto Service Technician is responsible for inspecting and testing vehicles completing preventive maintenance such as tire rotation and changes, wheel balancing, alignments, oil changes, replacing filters, and fluid exchanges.Key Responsibilities:Completed vehicle inspection every time and communicates to the front counter the items that may need to be repaired before the car leaves the shop.Consistently inspect and recommend needed repairs and/or services using the vehicles inspection report.Able to perform the following according to manufacturers specifications:Vehicle alignmentsVehicle fluid exchangesEvaluate brake condition and recommend repairOil Changes / Air FiltersChange, repair, balance, and replace tires ensures proper torquing on all jobs.Monitor & replenish lube related inventory.Recommend products and services when needed.Able to quote repairs.Completes all necessary training and is required to maintain certifications (or equivalent i.e., Ford):ASE A5 – Brakes within 1 year of being in position ORASE G1 – Maintenance and Light RepairAssist with phones, front counter, etc.Other duties as assigned.Competencies and Skills:Excellent customer service and interpersonal skillsMechanical skillsAbility to work independently and within a teamQualifications - Required:Valid driver's license with insurable driving recordMinimum age requirement: 18 years.6 months related experience (preferred)High School Diploma or GED (preferred)Compensation & Benefits:Comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, ESOP and retirement plans.Paid time off (PTO) and paid holidaysEssential Physical & Environmental Functions:Physical Demands:Standing: 80% | Walking: 70% | Sitting: 5%Frequent bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, twisting, and walking on uneven surfacesFrequent lifting/carrying: up to 50 lbsFrequent use of hands and fingers for grasping and dexterityConstant visual, auditory, and verbal communication requiredWork Environment:Frequent exposure to noise, dirt, dust, mechanical vibration, fumes, and outdoor conditionsOccasional work in extreme heat/cold or wet/humid environmentsOccasional hazards due to mechanical equipment and moving objectsEquipment Operated:Computer and KeyboardTire machines, compressors, air tools and hand toolsCompany-provided software and system for work orders and inventoryRequired to use protective gear (PPE)Compliance & Acknowledgment - This position must be performed with or without reasonable accommodation.
