This 100% plumber owned, family owned residential plumbing company is hiring a Residential Service Plumber to diagnose, repair, install, and maintain plumbing systems in occupied homes, remodels, and residential service environments. The company has a long history of quality work and is known for taking care of both its employees and its customers.

Schedule

Operating hours 8am to 4:30pm, with an afterhours on call rotation and unlimited overtime available.

Compensation

$35 to $45 per hour, based on experience, with additional pay for on call rotation and a percentage paid on service and product sales.

What You'll Do

The Residential Service Plumber diagnoses and repairs residential plumbing issues including leaks, clogs, fixture problems, water heaters, sump pumps, drain lines, water lines, and related systems. This person installs, replaces, and services fixtures, faucets, toilets, garbage disposals, water heaters, sump pumps, and water softeners, and performs drain clearing along with basic sewer and water line troubleshooting. The role includes reading work orders, assessing job conditions, identifying required materials, and completing assigned jobs efficiently and safely, all while communicating clearly with homeowners about findings, recommended repairs, pricing options, and next steps. This person maintains a clean, organized work area, protects the customer's home during service, and completes accurate documentation including service notes, photos, invoices, and job closeout information. The role requires following all plumbing codes, company standards, safety procedures, and quality expectations, maintaining tools, equipment, and vehicle cleanliness, and working as part of a team while also managing service calls independently.

Required Qualifications

• Residential plumbing service experience
• Valid Michigan plumbing license or ability to obtain one, as required for the role
• Strong troubleshooting skills across common residential plumbing systems
• Ability to communicate professionally with homeowners and team members
• Valid driver's license with a clean and reliable driving record
• Ability to pass a background check and any required employment screening
• Ability to lift, carry, kneel, crawl, work in tight spaces, and safely perform physical plumbing work
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with water heaters, tankless systems, sump pumps, water treatment, and drain cleaning
• Experience with sewer and water line repair
• Experience using tablets, service software, or digital invoicing and job documentation tools
• Backflow, boiler, gas piping, or other additional trade certifications
