A-Line Staffing is now hiring a Senior Research and Development Lab Technician in Lexington, MA. The Lab Technician Specialist (R&D) would be working for a Major Fortune 500 Lice Sciences Company and has career growth potential. This would be a full-time position.

Compensation

• Pay Range: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour

Schedule

• First Shift (Flexible with start time) - 40 hours per week
• 100% onsite in Lexington, MA

Position Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will support various laboratory tasks, including sample preparation, data collection, documentation, and ordering related to developing innovative solutions to address challenges in human health. This position will require being on-site at least 4 of 5 days per week, with the option of working hybrid 1 day per week.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and process biological samples for microbiome analysis, including DNA and/or RNA extraction from single strains and microbial communities.
• Conduct routine laboratory testing and experiments following established protocols.
• Maintain accurate laboratory records, documentation, and experimental data.
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments.
• Assist with developing and optimizing laboratory procedures.
• Ensure compliance with laboratory safety and hygiene standards.
• Collaborate with scientists and research staff to support project objectives.
• Participate in scientific discussions and team meetings.
• Support general laboratory operations, including maintaining lab inventory, chemical safety records, and instrument maintenance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Biology, Biochemistry, or a related scientific field.
• Previous laboratory experience, preferably in microbiome research or a related discipline.
• Experience with DNA extraction, PCR, microbial culture, and other molecular biology techniques.
• Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with data analysis software is a plus.
• Experience using electronic laboratory notebook (ELN) systems is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds .
• Must be comfortable working in a Biosafety Level 2 (BSL-2) laboratory environment.
