Speech Language Pathologist

The Speech Language Pathologist evaluates, diagnoses, and treats speech, language, cognitive-communication and swallowing disorders in patients of all ages with varying acuity levels. Responsibilities include evaluating patients, developing treatment plans, demonstrating competency in the use of profession specific equipment, re-evaluating and modifying treatment plans, ensuring accurate billing, and adhering to State Practice Act and Standards of Practice. The position also requires participation in Performance Improvement, program development, student supervision, assigned committees, safety and infection control, and attending rehabilitation meetings, in-services, and any patient care meetings that are required for the assignment. Practices efficient use and selection of supplies and equipment and instructs support personnel in their duties as necessary.

Qualifications include a Master's degree in speech/language pathology from an approved program, Certificate of Clinical Competence or active engagement in the Clinical Fellowship Year requirements, current Speech Language Pathologist license in the State of Florida, and current BLS/HealthCare Provider Certification. Experience is not required.
