Export Official Veterinarian - Sittingbourne

We are looking for an Export Official Veterinarian to work in the Sittingbourne area (Kent) to play an important role in facilitating the worldwide export of UK food and animal products. This role will be working day shifts working from Friday to Tuesday. Our Export Official Veterinarians (EOVs) are responsible for the completion of Export Health Certificates for some of Britain’s biggest brands and businesses. As an EOV you will need to establish and maintain productive working relationships with export customers. You will also have to understand legislative issues and gain a comprehensive knowledge of the exporting sector. You will need to be able to write up detailed reports and be willing to make effective decisions when needed. Demanding situations will occasionally arise as part of the job. You will need to be an excellent communicator with high levels of empathy and good diplomacy skills to ensure such situations are resolved in a professional way. Export Official Veterinarian tasks typically vary from day to day, but include the following: Completion of EHCs (Export Health Certificates) Inspecting export vehicles, finished goods, integrity of packaging and labelling Providing audit verification / photographic evidence of the export process Sending the appropriate documentation within the agreed timescale Building relationships with all stakeholders Key responsibilities include: Effectively manage and maintain all product information required to support the Export Health Certification of Products of Animal Origin (POAO) to be exported to or transit the EU Oversee and supply future and continuous improvement for all aspects of Exports Certification Deliver best-in-class solutions, to serve our operational and retail customers better, by improving availability and stock record accuracy Effectively deal with Customs and Excise compliance and freight financial obligations for all Exports Plan and manage changes to EU requirements, operations, budgets and process changes within the business Highlight trends, improve performance, and ensure compliance with agreed processes Be an ambassador for the business in all aspects of the supplier, third party, contract management and Government Provide advice, guidance and coaching to internal and external Stakeholders on complex food export legislation to ensure the provision of accurate product data EOV skills and experience requirements: Education: Veterinary Medicine Degree MRCVS registration or eligibility to obtain it Experience: earlier experience is preferred but not essential; full training will be provided English Level a minimum IELTS (Level 7) Driving licence: Full clean licence category B – mandatory (minimum driving experience 1 year) Basic commercial understanding and awareness of developing / operating third-party contracts In-depth understanding of stock flow and stock record management across grocery retail Intermediate to advanced IT skills including database systems, Excel, Google sheets and data management What we can offer: Mobile phone and laptop Permanent Contract 20 Days Annual Leave (plus bank holidays) rising to 25 days Company Pension Scheme Perkbox Scheme – a variety of discounts & benefits Visa sponsorship scheme available if required Century House, 1275 Century Way, Thorpe Park, Leeds LS15 8ZB #J-18808-Ljbffr
