Order SelectorThe Order Selector plays a key role in supporting a fast-paced manufacturing operation by accurately picking, staging, and preparing orders one day ahead of the assembly team. Working closely with assemblers, this role ensures that all required parts and materials are ready at each workbench to keep production running smoothly. The position involves frequent order picking, light to moderate lifting up to 20 lbs, climbing a 10-foot ladder to access top-shelf inventory, and operating material-handling equipment such as a manual pallet jack and forklift. This is a full-time role with weekday shifts available on both first and second shift.ResponsibilitiesReview the VOM (list of materials) daily to determine quantities and specific parts needed for upcoming production orders.Pick and pull orders and individual pieces accurately and efficiently to stay one day ahead of the assembly team.Stage all picked parts and materials at the appropriate workbenches so assemblers can begin work without delays.Continuously pick and replenish orders throughout the day to support a fast-moving manufacturing process.Climb a 10-foot ladder safely to retrieve items stored on top shelves and ensure all inventory is accessible as needed.Lift and move items up to 20 lbs regularly while maintaining proper safety and ergonomic practices.Learn to operate a manual pallet jack to move materials and kits throughout the warehouse and production floor.Obtain and maintain forklift certification and operate the forklift to transport inventory and staged orders when required.Support kitting activities by grouping parts and materials into complete kits for specific jobs or work orders.Assist with basic inventory tasks, such as verifying counts, identifying discrepancies, and keeping workstations stocked.Work collaboratively in a line with 3–4 team members at approximately 10 workstations to ensure smooth workflow.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, following all facility guidelines and safety procedures.Demonstrate reliable attendance and a positive attitude, consistently arriving on time and ready to work.Show flexibility by moving to different areas of the facility as needed and helping wherever support is required.Follow the established dress code and workplace rules while representing the company in a professional manner.Be open to working overtime when needed to meet production demands and customer requirements.Participate in training and skill development opportunities to grow into new departments and responsibilities over time.Essential SkillsPreferred prior warehouse experience, including order picking, packing, and general warehouse operations.Experience with order selecting and staging orders in a manufacturing or distribution environment is highly beneficial.Ability to perform order picking, staging, and kitting tasks with accuracy and attention to detail.Comfort working in a fast-paced setting where manufacturing processes move quickly and priorities can shift.Ability to stand for 100% of the shift and perform repetitive tasks while maintaining focus and quality.Capability to lift up to 20 lbs regularly and climb a 10-foot ladder safely to access top-shelf inventory.Willingness to learn and operate a manual pallet jack and obtain certification to operate a forklift.Strong attendance record and reliable work history, demonstrating commitment and dependability.Positive attitude and willingness to be trained and cross-trained in different areas of the facility.Ability to work cooperatively with a small team at multiple workstations and communicate effectively.Openness to working overtime when required to support production and shipping schedules.Additional Skills & QualificationsPrevious experience in kitting, inventory handling, or material staging in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.Demonstrated ability to adapt to new departments, roles, and tasks as business needs evolve.Track record of long-term tenure in prior roles, showing stability and commitment to employers.Interest in building a career in a warehouse or manufacturing environment and growing into new responsibilities.Comfort working in an industrial environment with a structured workflow and defined processes.Ability to follow detailed instructions and production documentation such as VOM lists.Strong work ethic, initiative, and willingness to help wherever needed on the facility floor.Why Work Here?Employees join a close-knit, small-company environment that recognizes and rewards strong performance. The environment features approximately 10 workstations arranged in a line, where employees work with 3–4 colleagues in a medium-sized, fully enclosed warehouse. The only open areas are two shipping and receiving doors located on the far side of the warehouse floor. The space is described as a beautiful, museum-like setting that feels unique compared to typical manufacturing environments, making it an enjoyable place to work. Team members stand for the entire shift and follow a clear dress code of a plain black t-shirt, jeans (blue, khaki, or black), and tennis shoes. Shifts run Monday through Friday, with first shift from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and second shift from 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., and employees must be open to overtime as needed. Breaks include a 10-minute morning break, a 30-minute lunch, and a 10-minute afternoon break, with an additional 10-minute break if working past 4:00 p.m. During the summer, breaks extend to 15 minutes to support comfort and well-being during warmer months.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Antonio, TX.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr.Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
