Job Details Level: Entry | Location: Columbiana, AL 35051 | Position Type: Full Time | Education Level: High School | Job Category: Health Care Position Summary The Dietary Care Specialist supports the dietary needs of clients at Magnolia Creek Treatment Center for Eating Disorders (MCTED). The role involves greeting and serving clients and guests in a professional, welcoming manner, assisting with weekday meal preparation, and collaborating with Dietitians on meal planning. Responsibilities Prepare lunches, dinners, and occasional desserts for clients on Saturday and Sunday. Cook and prepare meals for up to 40 people. Communicate with the Nutrition Director and Chef staff regarding client and staff allergies and meal modifications. Maintain ServSafe certification. Keep the kitchen clean and orderly: wash dishes, sanitize surfaces, and remove trash. Ensure proper storage of all food and items. Maintain inventory of food items and order as needed. Follow all health and safety guidelines for storage & preparation; check temperature controls daily. Keep dining and kitchen areas clean and sanitary. Report unhealthy or unsafe conditions to appropriate personnel. Operate within the facility’s Code of Ethics and corporate compliance. Ensure kitchen appliances are in good working order, cleaning and disinfecting them regularly. Update job knowledge through educational opportunities and professional publications. Provide high-level customer service to internal and external stakeholders. Complete additional duties as assigned to accomplish the organization’s mission. Skill Competencies Display readiness to assume additional responsibilities with patients, evidenced by timeliness, dedication, and willingness to learn. Demonstrate a high level of customer service. Show high attention to detail and organizational & prioritizing skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Welcomes and integrates team feedback. Understand safety and security standards of MCTED and apply them in daily work. Exhibit strong problem‑solving and analytical skills with sound judgment. Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, while building professional relationships. Maintain a strong belief in and commitment to the goals and mission of MCTED. Qualifications High School diploma or GED equivalent. Previous food preparation experience. Minimum of two years experience in a facility dietary setting strongly desired. Physical Requirements Communicate with peers, clients, and vendors. Work with kitchen appliances and utensils; exposure to hot surfaces, electrical and gas appliances and sharp objects. Move throughout the building and stand/walk for extended periods. Perform tasks that require talking, hearing, sitting, standing, walking, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, tasting, & smelling. Lift up to 50 pounds. Other Requirements Valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance. Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
