Structural Welder

We are looking for an experienced Structural Welder to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong MIG welding skills, experience working with structural steel, the ability to read blueprints, and proficiency with arc gouging. This position is ideal for a dependable team player who takes pride in producing high-quality welds while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and production.

Requirements

• Pass a MIG Weld Test in both 1G and 2G Unlimited positions.

• Weld testing will include both a visual inspection and bend test .

• Experience running 0.052" MIG wire using the following production parameters:- Amperage: 25–30 amps

  • Wire Speed: 400–500

• Ability to read and understand structural steel blueprints .

• Must be proficient in arc gouging .

• Previous experience welding structural steel is required.

• Strong understanding of Complete Joint Penetration (CJP) welds.

• Ability to work efficiently as part of a crew while maintaining quality and production standards.

• Commitment to workplace safety and following established welding procedures.

Job Description

The Structural Welder will be responsible for MIG welding structural steel components in a production environment. Welders will receive material that has already been fitted up and will perform production MIG welding according to the requirements shown on the blueprints.

This position will consist of MIG welding only , using 0.052" wire at approximately 25–30 amps and a wire speed of 400–500 . A strong emphasis will be placed on producing quality CJP (Complete Joint Penetration) welds and properly performing arc-gouging when required.

The structural steel products may include:

• I-beams
• Joists
• Webbing
• Connection plates
• Stiffeners
• Supporting brackets
• Other structural steel components

Welders will work in a designated production area known as a "Pit," alongside a crew of approximately 3–4 other welders . The successful candidate must be comfortable working in a team environment while maintaining consistent weld quality, productivity, and attention to detail.

The ideal candidate is a skilled structural welder who can accurately interpret blueprints, follow weld specifications, perform CJP welds and arc gouging, and consistently produce high-quality work in a fast-paced production environment.
