Expert Aircraft Structures Mechanic

We are seeking a Expert Aircraft Structures Mechanic with extensive experience in aircraft sheet metal repair, fabrication, and structural modifications. In this role, you will perform heavy maintenance and modification work on Gulfstream and Dash-8 aircraft, ensuring all repairs and installations meet FAA regulations, engineering specifications, and company quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural repairs, modifications, and heavy maintenance on Gulfstream and Dash-8 aircraft.
• Fabricate and install sheet metal components, assemblies, and structural repairs.
• Shoot, buck, remove, and replace rivets to aircraft specifications.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, work cards, and maintenance manuals.
• Perform sheet metal forming, bending, cutting, and fitting operations.
• Evaluate structural damage and determine appropriate repair methods in accordance with approved data.
• Complete maintenance documentation and accurately record work performed.
• Support depot-level maintenance, aircraft modifications, and special mission installations.
• Follow all safety, quality, and regulatory requirements while meeting production schedules.

Required Qualifications

• FAA Airframe or A&P License.
• 10+ years of aircraft sheet metal and structures experience.
• Strong experience in aircraft structural repair, fabrication, and modification.
• Experience performing heavy maintenance in an MRO environment.
• Proficiency in riveting, metal forming, and aircraft repair techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical manuals.
• Strong understanding of aircraft metals, materials, and structural repair procedures.
• Must provide required tools and maintain tool control standards.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working on Gulfstream, Dash-8, or similar aircraft platforms.
• Experience in heavy structural modification programs.
• Experience supporting ISR, special mission, or military aircraft programs.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented hangar environment.

Work Environment

Hangar-based MRO facility supporting aircraft heavy maintenance and modification programs. Work is performed on a Monday through Friday schedule (7:00 AM to 4:00 PM) and involves structural repairs, fabrication, and aircraft modifications in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment.

Job Type & Location: This is a Contract position based out of Bridgewater, VA.

Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $60.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
