Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Med Surg Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: RN Certifications: BLS Must-Have Skills/Experience: Post-operative patient care including ortho, neurosurgical, and abdominal surgeries. Experience with NG tubes, chest tubes, Foley catheters, and turps. Ability to manage respiratory issues, diabetic patient care, sepsis, alcohol withdrawal, rib fractures, altered mental status, and pain management. Great customer service and patient experience skills. Description: This facility features a 198-bed trauma center. It offers state-of-the-art operating suites and provides healthcare to the surrounding region. Services include medical, surgical, and rehabilitation care. There is a childbirth center, cancer center, nephrology unit, pediatric unit, inpatient behavioral health unit, day surgery center, and extensive imaging and lab testing services. The facility has received various awards for excellence in healthcare. Located in a scenic area, the facility is surrounded by opportunities for outdoor activities such as hiking and kayaking. The patient population served is adults ranging in age from 18 to 100+. The unit has a maximum patient ratio of 1:6, with frequent patient admissions and discharges throughout each shift. Equipment used includes IV pumps and vital signs monitors. The electronic health record system is Cerner. The staff is expected to follow all policies and guidelines while working in this environment. Common diagnoses and treatments include a mix of medical and surgical patients. The goal is to provide quality and compassionate care to all patients.
