We are looking for a Forklift Operator 1 for the following shifts: First Shift: 7:00 AM EST – 3:30 PM EST Full-Time: Monday – Friday + Overtime as Needed OnSite: Tampa, Florida Amalie Oil Company is North America's largest privately held independent blender of motor oils and industrial lubricants. With production facilities in Tampa, Florida; Charleston, South Carolina; and the Los Angeles area, Amalie manufactures over 3,000 products and distributes to all 50 states and over 100 countries around the world. Job Summary The Forklift Operator 1 will operate a propane and/or electric industrial forklift truck to accomplish various material handling assignments within an industrial lubricant manufacturing facility. Essential Duties Obtains production schedule and/or shipping orders and then with guidance identifies, verifies, and transports requested raw materials, finished goods or equipment to machines, loading docks, and storage areas. Applies general industry understandings of machine loading capacities and/or truck loading schedules, ensuring prompt and efficient delivery of required items. Utilizes basic understandings to properly apply protective materials and strapping equipment to protect and secure outgoing loads. Collects and properly disposes of scrap bracing, cardboard, strapping and pallet debris to maintain a safe and clean work environment. Follows instructions and adheres to Standard Operating Procedures for operating equipment and keeping records. Seeks and follows guidance from higher-ranking forklift operators for executing efficiencies in material handling duties within the warehouse and production areas. Utilizes an RF scan gun for basic inventory tracking purposes. Reports any problems with materials or transportation to leadership in the department. Consistently performs daily forklift inspections at the start of the scheduled shift. Performs other related duties as requested. Required Qualifications Prior forklift experience? Good math, language and reading skills?? High degree of attention required to prevent injury to others and promote a safe work environment?? Efficient time management skills? Ability to safely operate the forklift in tight and congested areas ? Successful completion of Forklift certification per AOCUSA and OSHA standards?? Basic English proficiency? Work Environment + Physical Requirements This job operates in a non-temperature-controlled industrial plant environment. These conditions can vary from hot and cold extremes. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving production machinery and vibration. Moderate noise can be expected from forklifts, machinery, trains and trucks. The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. Regular work will be performed near other workers and production machinery. Regularly sitting on a powered industrial truck?? May occasionally require lifting up?to 40 pounds and adjusting body position to bend, stoop,?walk, turn, pivot, and stand for long periods of time?? Having a good sense of balance?? Having good eye-hand-foot coordination?? Ability to assess weights and judge distances and heights?? Ability?to work in varying temperatures, depending upon season??
