Description: The CVOR Registered Nurse will work day shift, five days a week. Call will be split among CV staff, approximately 14 times per month, including weekend call. Floating between vascular and general units is required. Candidates must have 1 year of CVOR experience. ACLS and BLS certifications are required. Experience with EPIC charting system is necessary. Level 1 experience is preferred. The facility is a non-profit, research, and academic medical center. It provides tertiary care for the surrounding region. The unit's daily census typically includes 2 cases. The patient ratio is 3:1 during days, 2:1 at night, and for weekends, it is also 2:1. The unit supports interdisciplinary teams, including IV teams, physical therapy, and others. Common patient diagnoses include coronary artery disease, atrial fibrillation, and heart failure. Special procedures performed include CABG and valve replacement/repair. The unit utilizes advanced equipment such as heart-lung machines and ECMO. Compliance candidates living within 70 miles from the facility will not be accepted. Travelers must complete an OSHA respirator clearance prior to starting. Fit testing requires that travelers be clean-shaven to ensure proper mask sealing. Failure to comply with fit testing requirements may result in cancellation.
