Reports To: Restaurant General Manager

Status: Part-Time or Full-Time

FLSA Classification: Hourly, Non-Exempt

Position Summary

The Shift Manager supports the Restaurant General Manager by leading restaurant operations during assigned shifts. This position is responsible for providing direction to team members, delivering a positive guest experience, maintaining food quality and safety standards, and ensuring Pizza Hut operating procedures are followed.

The Shift Manager leads by example and helps create a positive, respectful, and productive work environment for team members and guests.

Key Responsibilities

Restaurant Operations & Guest Experience

●       Lead restaurant operations during assigned shifts and ensure consistent execution of Pizza Hut standards.

●       Maintain high standards for food quality, order accuracy, cleanliness, speed of service, and restaurant readiness.

●       Provide direction and support to team members throughout the shift.

●       Ensure guests receive friendly, professional, and timely service.

●       Resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally in accordance with Company service standards, including the B.L.A.S.T. process.

●       Support execution of Company promotions, new products, and operational initiatives.

Team Leadership

●       Provide day-to-day coaching, direction, and support to team members.

●       Assign tasks and position team members based on business and operational needs.

●       Reinforce performance, attendance, uniform, safety, and conduct expectations.

●       Assist with training and development of new and existing team members.

●       Recognize strong performance and communicate employee concerns to restaurant management as appropriate.

●       Promote teamwork, accountability, open communication, and a respectful work environment.

Cash Management & Restaurant Controls

●       Follow and enforce Company cash-handling, safe, and security procedures during assigned shifts.

●       Complete required cash counts, reconciliations, and shift documentation accurately.

●       Identify and report cash shortages, overages, or other discrepancies to restaurant management.

●       Protect Company funds, inventory, equipment, keys, and other restaurant assets.

●       Complete bank deposits when assigned and authorized.

Safety, Food Quality & Compliance

●       Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary restaurant environment.

●       Ensure food is prepared, stored, and served according to Pizza Hut standards.

●       Follow and reinforce applicable food safety, sanitation, workplace safety, and health requirements.

●       Address unsafe conditions or practices and notify restaurant management when appropriate.

●       Follow Company policies and procedures and ensure team members comply with applicable standards during assigned shifts.

Shift & Business Support

●       Monitor staffing, product levels, and restaurant conditions throughout the shift and make appropriate adjustments within assigned authority.

●       Support inventory counts, product receiving, waste controls, and other restaurant procedures as assigned.

●       Communicate significant guest, employee, operational, safety, or cash-related concerns to the Restaurant General Manager.

●       Support opening and closing procedures when assigned.

●       Perform other duties as assigned based on business needs.

Qualifications

●       Must be at least 18 years of age.

●       Previous restaurant, retail, customer service, or leadership experience preferred.

●       Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

●       Ability to provide direction, coach team members, and work effectively as part of a team.

●       Strong guest-service orientation.

●       Ability to remain organized and make sound decisions in a fast-paced restaurant environment.

●       Ability to perform basic math and accurately handle cash and restaurant transactions.

●       Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and other shifts based on business needs.

●       Valid driver's license and reliable transportation may be required when job responsibilities include making bank deposits or other authorized business travel.

The Shift Manager must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.

The position requires working in an active restaurant environment and maintaining a schedule that supports restaurant operations. Work schedules may vary based on staffing, business volume, and operational needs.
