Experienced Nurse Practitioner in Cardiology - Outpatient Setting

Position Overview

Gotham Enterprises Ltd is on the lookout for a dedicated Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our Cardiology Clinic located in Sunnyside, New York. This full-time position offers an opportunity to work within the Center for Advanced Cardiac Care (CACC), reporting directly to the Chief Nurse Practitioner and the Medical Director of the CACC. As a critical member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality care to patients within our outpatient office, contributing to improved health outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

As a Nurse Practitioner in our Cardiology Clinic, your responsibilities will include:

• Conducting thorough patient assessments, including obtaining medical histories and performing detailed physical examinations.
• Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests such as EKGs and lab work to accurately diagnose and manage both chronic and acute cardiac conditions.
• Developing patient-centered care plans that address individual health maintenance, provide anticipatory guidance, and outline necessary medical interventions.
• Collaborating with attending physicians and fellow NPs to modify treatment plans as patient conditions evolve.
• Educating patients and their families about disease processes, management strategies, and procedural considerations to ensure informed participation in their own healthcare.
• Facilitating hospital admissions and coordinating with inpatient services for seamless transitions of care.
• Documenting comprehensive patient encounters in our electronic medical records (EMR) system to maintain accurate and up-to-date patient information.
• Contributing to the advancement of our practice by participating in ongoing research, integrating findings into clinical protocols, and implementing best practices.
• Maintaining a safe, therapeutic environment for patients while upholding accountability for high standards of nursing practice.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our Nurse Practitioner will focus on a diverse range of cardiac patients at various stages of care, including individuals with heart failure, pulmonary arterial hypertension, and those who have undergone heart transplants. You will encounter unique challenges and rewarding experiences daily, as you help manage the complexities of advanced cardiac diseases and support patients in navigating their healthcare journeys.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• A Master’s degree in Nursing with training as a Nurse Practitioner, specializing in adult care.
• Two years of clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner, preferably within a hospital or cardiology setting.
• Current New York State RN and NP licenses, alongside NP board certification.
• Up-to-date certifications including BCLS, ACLS, DEA, and NPI.
• Proficiency in electronic medical records systems and common office software such as MS Office Suite.

Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, candidates with the following experience will be given preference:

• Experience with patient populations requiring advanced therapies, such as outpatient intravenous treatments or mechanical circulatory support.
• Demonstrated familiarity with care management for complex cardiac conditions.
• Participation in multidisciplinary care teams that encompass social work, nutrition, palliative care, and other support services.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $120,000 to $220,000 annually, commensurate with your experience and qualifications. Our comprehensive benefits package includes:
