Construction Superintendent

We are seeking a reliable, goal-driven Construction Superintendent to immediately fill an open position in Spencer, Iowa. The Superintendent will provide on-site leadership and management for commercial construction projects, ensuring all work is completed safely, on schedule, and within budget. This role requires hands-on construction experience and the ability to oversee all phases of the project lifecycle. This is a direct-hire position.

What you will be doing as a Superintendent:

• Provide day-to-day on-site management and supervision of commercial construction projects
• Coordinate and oversee subcontractors, labor crews, materials, and equipment
• Ensure all work is performed in accordance with project plans, specifications, and quality standards
• Enforce jobsite safety policies and maintain compliance with all safety regulations
• Monitor project schedules and budgets, identifying and resolving issues proactively
• Perform or assist with construction tasks as needed, including:
• Demolition and site preparation
• Earthwork and grading
• Mixing, pouring, and finishing concrete
• Layout and framing of structures
• Installation of subfloors, walls, and ceilings
• Steel and precast erection
• Metal stud framing and carpentry
• Welding and signaling equipment operators

Skills you ideally bring to the table as a Superintendent:

• 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent or lead role on commercial construction projects
• Proven experience with site supervision of project bids of $5 million or above:
• Concrete footings, foundations, and slab-on-grade (SOG)
• Steel and precast erection
• Metal stud framing and carpentry
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, safety standards, and jobsite best practices
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Reliable, self-motivated, and results-oriented work ethic
