Job Title

Registered Nurse – ICU (Intensive Care Unit)

Location

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | 3x12-hour shifts | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in the ICU with typical patient ratios of 1:2–3
• Manage ventilators, IV drip titration, and continuous telemetry monitoring
• Perform dysrhythmia recognition and management, including emergency critical care response
• Administer and monitor conscious sedation per unit protocols
• Float as needed to Stepdown, Emergency Department, or Medical-Surgical units to care for ICU-held patients
• Work every other weekend, required holidays within the contract, and two of three winter holidays

Required Qualifications

• Active Virginia or Compact RN license in hand at time of submission — no exceptions
• Proficiency in Epic EHR — no exceptions
• BLS certification from American Heart Association only
• ACLS certification from American Heart Association only
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Must pass an EKG/telemetry competency test with a score of 80% or higher (one attempt; no remediation available)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Minimum three years of critical care experience strongly preferred; strong candidates with less experience may be considered
• Strong neuro critical care background
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred
