Food and Beverage Steward

Summary

The role of Steward includes the following areas of responsibility: Maintaining all silver,China, glassware and banquet equipment. Assisting with general cleaning and chemical management. Periodic inventory and allocation of operating equipment. The set up and management of banquet table and buffet points.

Essential function

• Maintain a safe, secure and healthy facility by following and enforcing sanitation standards.
• Maintain an organized, clean heart of the house.
• Responsible for washing and cleaning of Food and beverage equipment
• Assist Executive Steward with buffet and wedding organization.
• Ensuring all personnel follows company procedures and breakage polices.
• Conduct 3 monthly inventories forChina, silver, Glassware.
• Scheduling all supporting dishwashers.
• Accountable for banquet, club event and special event room set up. (including buffet setup and service)
• Organization of furniture/equipment storage. (all banquet storage areas)
• Setup rooms according to floor plans
• Cleaning of staff cafeteria and banquet storage areas.
• Management of trash and recycling.
• Position duties may include any other tasks as deemed necessary by managers in order to fulfill the obligations of the club.
• To ensure the result of guest and member satisfaction, steward will proactively contribute to  our teamwork dynamic by supporting each other consistently in a positive manner
• Adhere to break requirements and schedules as well as clocking procedures

Qualifications

• High level of professionalism
• Strong oral communication skills, Spanish and English preferred
• Excellent Attitude
• Strong inter personal skills (people skills)
• Food hygiene and food regulation knowledge is preferred
• Must be willing to be practically involved and lead by example
• Experience on managing and controlling inventory
• Physical fitness, this position requires bending, climbing, reaching, standing (long period of time in hot conditions) walking, lifting (60 lbs)

• Able to stand for long hours, bending, lifting and reaching over.
• Ability to use hands, fingers, handle or feel objects, tools or controls.
• Ability to reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, talk or hear. 
• Occasionally lift and or move up to 50 lbs. 
• Vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception.

Work Hours:

This is a non-exempt, hourly position with a varied work schedule according to demand.  Occasional overtime may be available depending on Club demands.

Reports to:  Upper Club Banquet Director /Asst. Banquet Director/Banquet Captain
