Job Summary

Th e Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for preparing, packaging, labeling, and loading outbound shipments while ensuring accuracy, safety, and compliance with company and carrier requirements. This role requires prior shipping experience and the ability to operate material-handling equipment, including a sit-down forklift.

Job Description

• Determine the most appropriate shipping method based on product type, destination, and carrier requirements.
• Package products securely to prevent damage during transportation.
• Shrink-wrap palletized shipments to ensure stability during transit.
• Assemble wooden or cardboard shipping containers or select preassembled containers as needed.
• Seal wooden crates and secure containers using appropriate fastening materials.
• Apply shipping labels, stamps, stencils, and other identifying information to shipments.
• Ensure shipping instructions and documentation are accurate and complete.
• Record shipment weights and applicable freight charges accurately.
• Maintain shipping records and related documentation.
• Inspect outgoing shipments to verify accuracy, quality standards, and compliance with shipping requirements.
• Verify that products are packaged and labeled correctly before shipment.
• Operate material-handling equipment to move products between storage, shipping, receiving, and work areas.
• Safely operate a sit-down forklift to transport materials and shipments.
• Load trailers and box trucks with outgoing shipments while following proper loading procedures.
• Shift: M-F 9:00am-5:30pm (as business needs OT M-F 7:00am-5:30pm and Sat. 5:00am-11:00am)

S kills Required

• Minimum of one (1) year of shipping, warehouse, or related logistics experience.
• Ability to operate a sit-down forklift safely and efficiently (forklift certification preferred).
• Basic understanding of shipping documentation, labeling, and freight procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to lift, move, and handle materials safely throughout the workday.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive movements throughout the shift.
• Ability to lift, carry, move, and handle materials safely.
• Ability to work in a warehouse or distribution environment and operate material-handling equipment safely.

Education

• Highschool diploma or GED

Pay Rate

• $18.50 per hour (Compensation will be offered within this posted range based on experience, skills, and market factors)
