Summary: Responsible for processing rental applications, showing apartments to prospective tenants, and performing various marketing and clerical tasks by performing the following duties.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Escorts prospective tenants through apartment complex and designated apartment and explains all facets of the apartment complex and provides general demographic information.

1. Processes rental applications by verifying relevant tenant data such as employment, income, prior residences, and rent payment history and documents the results.

1. Submits rental applications to management for determination.

1. Contacts applicants to inform them of application status and schedules move-ins according to established schedule.

1. Answers multi-line telephone and responds to all inquiries or escalates issue to management.

1. Performs various clerical duties such as figuring rent percentages, typing, entering data into computer, filing, and retrieving files in an efficient manner.

1. Translates tenant information accurately to prepare leases.

1. Generates leads through marketing efforts.

1. Performs other duties as they are assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Directly supervises employees in the Property Manager Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Language Ability:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Math Ability:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Rent Manager.

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
