Youth Development Professional

The Salvation Army , an internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, has 5 openings for the Youth Development Professional for the Boys & Girls Club, located in Beaumont, TX. Job Summary Plans, implements, supervises members and evaluates activities provided within a specific program area, supporting the Boys & Girls Club priority outcome areas of Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles, Good Character and Citizenship. May oversee special programs and/or events (i.e., Keystone, Youth of the Year and Awards Programs), and/or participate in the implementation of other unit activities as necessary. In absence of the Program Coordinator, may provide supervision oversight to other Youth Development Professionals to ensure continuity of program services at unit/branch locations. Builds and maintains a professional relationship with all Club members and their families in order to help advance the mission of The Salvation Army. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to present a positive and professional image of The Salvation Army. Ability interacts with children and teens withpatience and respect. Ability to prepare and maintain records and reports in an accurate and complete manner. Ability to support andcoordinateactivities and events. Ability to clearly communicate roles and responsibilities to individuals and groups. Ability to schedule meetings. Ability to interact with co-workers, volunteersand the public in a positive, professional manner.Abilityto work with people of diverse backgrounds and circumstances. Ability to operate and generally maintain all officeequipment, includingbutintolimited to the copier, faxmachine. Proficiency with Windows & Microsoft Office365, particularlyWord,Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Education and Experience High School Diploma or G.E.D. and previous work in related field with Children and Youth preferred and Commitment to actively participate in a Professional Development Plan including Level II & Levell III Training which includes completion of 20 Credit Hours of Boys & Girls Club of America Spillett Training. Licenses & Certifications: N/A Physical Requirements/Working Conditions Ability to deal comfortably with stressfulsituations andfollow emergency procedures. Ability to multi-task, ability to follow instructions and complete tasks in a safe and effective manners. Ability to interact with co-workers and the public in a positive, professional manner. Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language effectively. Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing. Ability to work under the pressure of deadlines and time constraints. Ability to meet attendance requirements. Duties are usually performedby combinations of sitting, standing and walking on a frequent change basis. Working Conditions: Work is performed in an indoor and outdoor recreational environment where there may be physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt and the like.
