Market Lead

As a Market Lead, you'll lead a well-stocked, well-maintained department, while providing superior customer service and maintaining department safety and sanitation. You may perform supervisory responsibilities, such as scheduling work, and training / developing Partners. Key responsibilities include store lead operations, training, production, food service, and food safety / sanitation.

Responsibilities include serving as backup to Department Manager, preparing department work schedules, training Partners, directing work, addressing complaints, resolving issues, serving as liaison between Manager and department Partners, ordering product, ensuring quality control, unloading heavy, bulky meat from trucks, operating power meat prep and processing equipment, cutting, trimming, and preparing meat for service meat counter and self-service counter, weighing / wrapping / labeling product, ensuring proper product rotation and storage, maintaining coolers and freezers, assisting in all technical areas, as needed, providing / coaching on superior customer service, answering customer questions regarding products, assisting with selections, following merchandising and selling campaigns related to cutting, trimming, and merchandising meat, cleaning / sanitizing sales floor, display cases, prep areas, and equipment, complying / ensuring Partners comply with department SOPs, store operating procedures, and federal / state fresh meat regulations, maintaining equipment safety and sanitation standards.

Qualifications include being 18+ years old, having work experience, knowledge of department production stations, including quality standards, set-up, operation, cleaning, and maintenance of all equipment, knowledge of the culinary and nutritional aspects of product, meat-cutting skills, customer service and communication skills, computer skills, ability to read and interpret documents, and an associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school.

Physical demands include functioning in a fast-paced, retail environment, in detailed and precise tasks, working with customers, staying attentive to their needs, lifting and carrying moderately heavy loads, frequently standing, walking, bending, reaching, pivoting, pushing / pulling with arms, grasping, being exposed to moving mechanical parts, extreme cold, and high-tech chemicals, and occasionally being exposed to wet and / or humid conditions.
