Coding Educator

Every day you will plan, organize, direct, and coordinate education and training for coding teams. To thrive in this role, you must demonstrate previous success in coder education, auditing, or management, as well as comprehensive knowledge of ancillary, surgical, emergency department, and E/M coding. Here’s what you will experience working as a Coding Educator: Audit, educate, and monitor coders for E/M levels, procedures, and diagnosis coding to include CPT/ICD-10 and HCPCS; provide support to provider education as neededWork with Coding Leadership to identify areas where focused education may be needed for production coders; develop, administer, implement and update focused and continuing coding education programs and materials for coding associatesEnsure Auditor production standards, QA requirements, and compliance with Auditing philosophies and guidelines are metProvide constructive review and feedback to assist in the development of instructional materials to include course plans, objectives, and evaluation tools.Experience training onshore and offshore coders on CPT/ICD-10 and HCPCS. Required Skills High school diploma, GED, or equivalentRequired certification (one or more): CCS, COC, RHIA, RHIT, or CPCPrior work experience in production coding, auditing, coder education and training, or coding leadership where you developed coding, quality review, and training skillsSpecialty experience: Ancillary, Surgical, Emergency Medicine, Evaluation & Management CodingAbility to communicate effectively verbally and in writing to provide guidance and corrective action while maintaining a motivating environmentAbility to use Microsoft Office Suite to prepare and present training materials, communicate feedback and recommendations, and report and analyze data For this US-based position, the base pay range is $28.24 - $40.21 per hour . Individual pay is determined by role, level, location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
