Tax Accountant

Location: Grand Rapids, MI

Compensation: $55,000 - $65,000

Schedule: Monday-Friday | Full Time

Work Arrangement: Hybrid - 1 day remote after training.
Responsibilities

  • Prepare and process flow-through business entity tax returns using UltraTax
  • Calculate business tax payments and assist with tax compliance activities
  • Communicate with clients via email to obtain missing tax information and documentation
  • Assist with special tax projects throughout the year
  • Support the team during busy tax periods and help prepare for future filing seasons
  • When tax workloads are lighter, assist with accounting functions and financial statement preparation (training provided if needed)
Required Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in Accounting or Finance minimum
  • Exposure to tax preparation or at least one tax season of experience
  • Basic understanding of business tax compliance
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines
  • Comfortable learning new technology and software
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Experience preparing financial statements
  • Public accounting or small firm tax experience
  • Working toward CPA licensure
  • Enrolled Agent (EA) designation
