We strive to be a positive force in our community. General Purpose The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring our customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate makes eye contact, smiles, and greets all customers in a courteous and friendly manner, treats fellow Associates with respect, efficiently follows all company best practice standards as outlined in all work centers, maintains a clean work area at all times, and ensures proper merchandise presentation. The Retail Associate is expected to be engaged in all assigned tasks during working hours and will be expected to perform a range of functions in all areas of the store as business needs require. The Associate may be requested to perform additional tasks in specific situations if performance of these tasks will help achieve our customer service and operational goals. Essential Functions Understand that safety is the number one priority and practice safe behaviors in everything they do. Maintain a high level of awareness on the sales floor to create a safe and secure shopping environment for everyone, keeping exits clear and reporting unsafe conditions. Treat all customers and Associates with respect and courtesy, greeting them with eye contact, a smile, and friendly verbal acknowledgment. Assist customers in any necessary way – be register‑trained, help with merchandise, and answer questions politely and knowledgeably. Respond promptly to customer service calls and handle all customer issues courteously, involving Store Leadership when needed. Represent and support the Company brand at all times. Perform cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, wiping counters and mirrors, replenishing restroom supplies, and disinfecting high‑touch areas to maintain a neat, clean environment. Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to the Company's dress code at all times. Perform daily assigned sizing and recovery per company best practice to keep the store organized and merchandised to standards. Expedite newly received merchandise receipts to the sales floor with urgency, merchandising all items per monthly presentation guidelines. Understand Loss Prevention Awareness, the Shortage Highway, the Store Protection Specialist program (where applicable), and merchandise protection standards. Safeguard confidential information, cash, credit card data, and merchandise. Follow All Mark‑Out‑of‑Stock (MOS) policies, properly process each piece, and notify Store Leadership for approval of disposals. Follow all cash, check, charge card and refund procedures, including voids and offline processes, ensuring accuracy. Demonstrate a sense of urgency to efficiently perform their role and maximize productivity by executing store best practices. Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments. Physical Requirements / ADA Ability to use all store equipment, including PDTs, registers and PCs. Stand, walk, and move around the store up to 100% of working time. Regularly bend at the waist, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop. Occasionally push, pull, and lift more than 25 pounds; stockroom shifts may require lifting more than 20 pounds. Use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other assigned supplies safely. Base Pay Range $15.00 – $15.50 per hour, dependent on experience, skills, qualifications, education, certifications, seniority and location.
