Industrial Electrician

About the Role The primary responsibility of this position is to oversee the day‑to‑day electrical operations at assigned locations, ensuring safe, efficient and profitable operations. The role includes managing staff, maintaining compliance with safety and environmental regulations, and promoting a positive image within the local community. Responsibilities Lead and manage electrical operations, including staffing, logistics, inventory, maintenance, efficiency, quality, and customer service. Participate fully in the company Safety Program and attend daily pre‑shift meetings. Perform duties in compliance with OSHA, company safety and environmental regulations, including proper use of PPE. Instruct subordinates on the correct use of required PPE. Utilize appropriate hand and power tools correctly and safely. Conduct audits, monitor inventory, perform maintenance needs and housekeeping as required. For Level 4 and above: install conduit, test electrical systems, follow National Electrical Code (NEC) and local building codes, and maintain documentation of daily tasks. For Level 3: perform electrical maintenance, locate and repair breakdowns, install and test new equipment, and keep equipment clean and lubricated. For Level 2: evaluate electrical and electronic equipment, maintain records, troubleshoot and repair electrical components, and train lower‑level electricians. For Level 1: install, maintain, troubleshoot, repair and operate building electrical systems and emergency power generation, program PLCs, and oversee maintenance of motor control systems and HVAC. Remain available on call and work rotating 12‑hour shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (preferred: high school diploma with electrical certification). Level‑appropriate electrical experience as described above. First Aid certification (required); a Professional Electrician certificate (preferred). Basic knowledge of electrical theory and practical experience. Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite. Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. Expert mechanical skills and problem‑solving ability. Good decision‑making, conflict‑management, time‑management, organizational and prioritization skills. Ability to work autonomously and within a team environment. Physical Demands & Requirements Heavy manual handling; occasionally lift or exert up to 100 lbs. Frequent handling of 50 lbs; constant handling of 20 lbs. Climb ladders up to 120 ft., work at significant heights and in confined spaces. Work outdoors in extreme weather (heat, cold, wet or dry conditions) and in environments with high dust levels. Operate on barges and near water where applicable. Must meet Personal Fitness Test (PFT) and fit testing requirements, when applicable. Compensation Base pay range: $30.25 – $40.75 per hour (actual pay may vary by location and experience). Rotating 12‑hour shifts with potential for non‑standard hours and extended work.
