About Roadrunner Food Bank of New Mexico Roadrunner® Food Bank of New Mexico, a Feeding America member, is the largest non-profit dedicated to solving food insecurity in New Mexico. As a food distribution hub, we provide food to hundreds of affiliated member partners around the state including food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters and regional food banks. We also distribute food through specialized programs helping children, families and seniors at schools, low-income senior housing sites, senior centers and with and through health care partnerships. Every week, tens of thousands of hungry children, seniors and families are reached through this statewide hunger relief network. As such, we maintain transparent salary ranges. You can expect us to offer the best salary up front with no room for negotiation. Once hired, employees have the opportunity to progress through salary ranges via regular merit increases and step promotions. We pay 85% of the medical, dental, and vision insurance premiums for employees, and 75% for their dependents, including domestic partners. The majority of our employees pay less than $60 per check for medical insurance. Position Overview The Food Distribution Coordinator will hold primary responsibility over food distribution coordination and increasing food accessibility in service areas experiencing significant food gaps. This position is highly operational and field-driven with primary accountability for distribution coordination, logistics, and execution. There is a heavy focus on efficiently moving food into underserved and rural service areas in central and northern New Mexico. This role will lead the day-to-day coordination of food distributions and ensure operational efficiency with limited supervision. Duties and Responsibilities 1. Distribution Coordination and Support Develop and maintain distribution calendars by updating dates, times, locations, and delivery routes. Identify, and confirm distribution locations. Coordinate scheduling updates and changes, ensuring stakeholders are informed. Prepare and share weekly schedules with transportation, allocations, and all other key teams and staff. Ensure all required materials are ready prior to distributions such as sign-in sheets, signs, traffic control equipment, and any required distribution tools. Travel to distribution sites as needed for field operations support. Manage setup, distribution flow, registration overview, breakdown, etc. Manage real-time problem solving and adjust as needed. 2. Tracking and Data Entry Collect and process distribution data including households served, pounds distributed, and geographical location. Enter and maintain accurate data in internal tracking systems. Ensure all distributions are documented in a timely and accurate manner. Maintain organized and accurate records of all distribution activities. 3. General Operations Support Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve processes and identify areas of opportunity for increased efficiency and service quality. Coordinate daily logistics and administrative tasks to support food distribution operations. Support organizational-wide policies, procedures, and standards. Support the development and implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs). Assist the Strategic Support team as needed. Maintain open lines of communication with staff and support teams. Close visual acuity to perform activities such as viewing a computer terminal and visual inspection of the operation of machines and/or using measurement devices at distances close to the eyes, operating machines where the seeing job is at or within arm’s reach, operating motor vehicles and/or heavy equipment, determining the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned or making general observations of facilities and structures. Travel Required Frequent travel required (more than 50% of working time). Occasional overnight stays. Valid state driver’s license and continuous positive motor vehicle reports are required to drive. Company vehicle provided for travel. Mileage reimbursement is provided for the use of a personal vehicle for work-related activities when a company vehicle is not available. Required Education, Licenses, Certifications, and Experience 1 – 2 years of experience in operations coordination, logistics, administrative support, or customer service, preferably in a nonprofit or food bank setting High school diploma or equivalent required Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities with strong attention to detail. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and data management software. Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external partners. Demonstrated commitment to community service and hunger relief. Nonprofit management, logistics, or related field or equivalent experience. Strong communication and relationship-building skills with diverse stakeholders. Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion. Must have a valid driver's license. Knowledge and experience in working with New Mexico’s diverse culture and environments. Knowledge of food safety and proper food storage and handling techniques. Preferred Education, Licenses, Certifications, and Experience Background in hunger relief, food access, community building, or local and regional food systems work a plus. Bilingual English/Spanish a plus. Event planning and fund-raising support experience a plus. Work Authorization/Security Clearance Requirements Legally authorized to work within the United States.
