Job Description

Cottman Auto Mall is seeking a dependable and experienced Automotive Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will be skilled in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of makes and models. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, pays close attention to detail, and can complete repairs accurately and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and diagnose mechanical and electrical problems
• Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes, brake service, tire replacement, and fluid checks
• Repair engines, transmissions, suspension systems, steering systems, cooling systems, and other vehicle components
• Use diagnostic scanners and other equipment to identify vehicle issues
• Complete pre-sale inspections and prepare vehicles for sale
• Perform test drives before and after repairs
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and parts used
• Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe
• Communicate clearly with management regarding required repairs and completion times
• Follow all safety procedures and dealership standards

Qualifications

• Previous professional automotive repair experience required
• Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills
• Ability to work on multiple vehicle makes and models
• Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
• Must have reliable transportation
• Ability to use automotive diagnostic tools and shop equipment
• Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work independently
• Ability to lift heavy parts and perform physical automotive repair work
• ASE certification is preferred but not required
• Pennsylvania inspection and emissions licenses are a plus
