Mammography TechThe mammography tech is responsible for detecting breast tissue abnormalities by completing mammographic imaging studies presenting them for diagnosis.What you will do:Greets patients by confirming patient identification; reviewing imaging request; checking for special instructions; confirming anticipated service with patients.Gains patient cooperation by reducing anxieties; providing explanations of imaging procedures explaining equipment; answering questions.Conducts mammography study by positioning breasts; adjusting compression mechanisms instructing patient to hold breath; retreating to lead protected area; adjusting equipment controls to set exposure factors; activating equipment to take image; releasing compression mechanisms.Maintains production and quality of mammograms by following established standards and procedures; observing mammogram results; determining necessary adjustments for optimum results; retaking mammograms as required; forwarding completed.Minimum Qualifications:Education: Graduate of a recognized program in Radiologic Technology; Associates Degree or above required.Licensure: Connecticut Radiology license.Certification: ARRT and Mammography Certified.Skills: Minimum 3 years working experience in the mammography modality preferred in an acute care setting.Position Highlights and Benefits:Great benefitsHealth Insurance CoverageLearning EnvironmentExcellent TeamMinistry/Facility Information:Trinity Health Of New England is an integrated health care delivery system that is comprised of world-class providers and facilities dedicated to full spectrum preventative, acute, and post-acute care.
