Job Description

This role focuses on assembling, testing, and packaging electro-mechanical products in a lean manufacturing environment. You will work with small parts, hand tools, and basic test equipment to build and verify products according to visual and written work instructions. The position involves rotating within production cells, performing basic go/no-go testing on circuit boards, and preparing finished products for shipment while maintaining quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Assemble electro-mechanical products using small parts, hand tools, and production equipment in a cell-based environment.

• Perform basic go/no-go testing of circuit boards to verify functionality and identify nonconforming units.

• Conduct wire bonding and RF soldering for sub-assemblies according to established procedures.

• Follow visual and written work instructions to add customer-specific components and configurations.

• Package finished products accurately and stage them for shipping in accordance with shipping and labeling requirements.

• Notify material handlers promptly of part shortages or material issues to prevent production delays.

• Use a computer to access work instructions, record production data, and complete basic documentation.

• Lift and move items up to 35 pounds safely as part of daily production activities.

• Stand for extended periods during shifts while performing assembly, testing, and packaging tasks.

• Rotate among different teams and workstations within the production cell as needed to support workflow and cross-training.

• Follow lean manufacturing and kanban processes to maintain efficient production flow and minimize waste.

• Adhere to ESD (electrostatic discharge) controls and other safety requirements when handling sensitive components.

• Maintain a clean and organized work area and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.

Essential Skills

• Hands-on assembly experience, including working with small parts and components.

• Proficiency using hand tools for mechanical and electro-mechanical assembly.

• Experience with basic testing, including go/no-go testing of circuit boards.

• Ability to perform or learn wire bonding and RF soldering for sub-assemblies.

• Experience in production or manufacturing of small parts.

• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds safely and repeatedly.

• Ability to stand for extended periods during the workday.

• Strong understanding of English to follow written and verbal instructions.

• Ability to use a computer for basic tasks such as accessing instructions and entering data.

• Capability to provide references for the last five jobs or the past seven years, as required.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical assembly, assembly line work, or general production environments.

• Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and working within a production cell.

• Experience working with kanban systems for material and workflow management.

• Previous exposure to ESD-controlled environments and handling of sensitive electronic components.

• Comfort rotating among teams and tasks, with a flexible and adaptable working style.

• Experience in packaging, shipping preparation, or production-related logistics.

Work Environment

The role is based in a lean manufacturing, kanban-driven production cell environment focused on efficiency and continuous improvement. You will work around electro-mechanical assemblies and ESD-sensitive components, following electrostatic discharge controls and standard safety procedures. The position requires standing for most of the shift, frequent use of hand tools, and regular lifting of up to 35 pounds. Work involves rotating among different teams and stations, so you can expect a dynamic setting with varied tasks throughout the day. Computer use is part of the daily workflow for accessing instructions and recording data. Facility operations are planned through March 2027, and the culture supports flexibility, teamwork, and adherence to standardized processes and work instructions.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tualatin, OR.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $24.00/hr.
