Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Urgent Care Department. The role involves assisting patients and medical staff within an ambulatory care setting, ensuring the smooth operation of clinical services.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide clinical services in collaboration with healthcare providers and staff to deliver excellent patient care.
• Lead and direct clinic staff to ensure efficient operations, including front desk management and patient care.
• Maintain medication inventory and manage supplies that are not on the Warehouse PAR system.
• Conduct necessary quality control checks for Point of Care tests.
• Document all care and services provided accurately and in a timely manner.
• Oversee the opening and closing procedures of provider clinics.
• Assist providers and clinic staff proactively to enhance patient care efficiency.
• Communicate effectively across departments to optimize patient and staffing resources.

Education, Certifications, and Licenses Required

• Current full, unrestricted Registered Nursing license in Alaska.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience Required

• Minimum of 2 years of urgent care experience.

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in nursing processes and their application in a clinical environment.
• Strong understanding of customer service principles and safety/infection control protocols.
• Experience in completing assessments, anticipating patient needs, and specimen collection.
• Competent in using medical equipment and technology, including computers.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Able to multi-task and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Team-oriented with a willingness to teach and share knowledge.
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities to maintain good working relationships.

Physical Demands

The role requires the ability to communicate effectively, frequently standing, walking, sitting, and using hands to perform tasks. Must be capable of lifting or moving up to 50 lbs and occasionally be prepared to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
