Maintenance MechanicThis role focuses on maintaining and repairing conveyor, bottling, and packaging systems in a highly organized food manufacturing facility. You will perform mechanical repairs, troubleshoot and diagnose faults, and respond to service calls across the plant to keep production running safely and efficiently.ResponsibilitiesPerform mechanical repairs on conveyor, bottling, and packaging systems throughout the facility.Field service calls across the plant to diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues in a timely manner.Identify and resolve stoppages on machines and conveyors to minimize downtime.Replace faulty components such as motors, cylinders, drives, belts, chains, gearboxes, switches, and photo eyes.Perform motor changes, including work with three-phase motors, to restore equipment to proper operation.Conduct preventative maintenance during designated cleaning windows, typically lasting 2–3 hours every 1–2 days.Inspect and maintain conveyor systems, including conveyor maintenance and alignment, to ensure smooth operation.Use mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical troubleshooting techniques to identify root causes of failures.Interpret and work from schematics and diagrams when performing repairs or adjustments.Support maintenance activities on various equipment across the facility as needed.Maintain and use personal basic hand tools safely and effectively while performing daily tasks.Follow all safety and food manufacturing standards while working in a cold, clean production environment.Document work performed as required and communicate equipment status to supervisors and teammates.Essential SkillsStrong mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose and repair mechanical issues on production equipment.Experience or strong interest in industrial maintenance, particularly in a manufacturing or production setting.Hands-on skills in preventive maintenance, including inspection, lubrication, and component replacement.Working knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics for troubleshooting and repair.Ability to work with motors, including three-phase motors, and perform motor changes.Familiarity with conveyor systems and conveyor maintenance.Basic electrical troubleshooting skills, including working with switches and understanding schematics.Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics.Capability to perform tasks such as changing drives, belts, gearboxes, cylinders, chains, and photo eyes.Ownership of a basic set of personal tools suitable for mechanical maintenance work.Ability and willingness to work at least one weekend day while maintaining two days off per week.Comfort working in a cold food manufacturing environment while following safety and cleanliness standards.Additional Skills & QualificationsElectrical experience beyond basic troubleshooting is considered a strong plus.Experience in food manufacturing maintenance is a plus.Experience working with pumps and hydraulics is highly desirable.Welding skills or familiarity with welding processes are beneficial.Interest in continuing education or training in a related technical field, supported by paid education benefits.Why Work Here?You will join a company that offers exceptional flexibility and rewards strong performance. Typical schedules follow either Monday–Wednesday plus every other weekend or Wednesday–Friday plus every other weekend, and you can expect to start on day shift for approximately 4–6 weeks for training before transitioning to your regular shift. The environment is a standard food production setting, generally cold throughout most of the facility but not uncomfortable, with a strong emphasis on cleanliness and organization. The plant has seen significant investment in recent years, including brand-new conveyor systems, blow molding lines, packaging lines, and other modern equipment, providing exposure to up-to-date technology. The maintenance team works with conveyors, motors, gearboxes, pumps, hydraulics, pneumatics, and related electrical systems, using schematics and standard maintenance tools. The facility is described as very organized, supporting efficient work and clear processes. The dress code is practical and comfortable, and steel-toe footwear is not required, so you may wear tennis shoes while following all safety and hygiene guidelines appropriate for a food environment.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Little Rock, AR.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
