Wastewater Treatment Plant OperatorThe City of Camas is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator who will primarily operate a wide variety of wastewater treatment equipment and processes. The individual selected for this position will work under the supervision of the Wastewater Operations Manager and the Utilities Manager.This facility is staffed 7 days/week. The hours for this position during training will be Monday – Friday, 7am to 3:30pm. Upon completion of training, the schedule will be a 4-10 dayshift schedule and will include working weekends and holidays. The position is represented by AFSCME, Local 307CC and is eligible for a full benefits package.Minimum QualificationsEquivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade supplemented by specialized training in wastewater treatment plant operations and/or maintenance or a related fieldTwo years of increasingly responsible experience in the maintenance and operation of a wastewater treatment plant and pumping facilityPossession of a valid driver's licensePossession of a Washington State Group 1 Wastewater Operator certificate or the ability to obtain within six months of hire dateIn addition to the job description requirements, the preferred candidate will possess the following attributes: collaborative, adaptable, positive attitude, ability to take initiative, good verbal, and written communication skills, demonstrated organizational and decision-making skills and flexibility to work non-standard hours as needed.All application materials must be attached when the application is submitted.
