Johns Manville – Company Overview Johns Manville is a leading manufacturer and marketer of premium-quality insulation and commercial roofing, along with glass fibers and nonwovens for commercial, industrial and residential applications. Position: Electrician (McPherson, KS) This role involves inspecting, maintaining, and repairing machinery, equipment, systems, buildings, facilities, and physical structures. The incumbent works under supervision and may assist in other job skills as required. Compensation & Schedule Starting rate $33.97 per hour with increases within the first 180 days, reaching $35.26 at 180 days with satisfactory performance. Shift: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM with adjustments as work requires. Responsibilities Inspect, maintain, and repair machinery, equipment, systems, and facilities. Use complex blueprints, diagrams, and sketches to perform tasks according to established procedures. Plan and lay out work assignments to achieve maximum efficiency. Prepare, read, interpret, and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, and sketches, making all necessary measurements and calculations. Perform all types of maintenance and repair work essential to efficient plant operation. Make welds, brazes, cuts, solder, and silver-solder of all grades and types of metal from difficult positions. Fill out work orders, requisitions, inspection reports, time distribution, and material usage, and perform other clerical duties to maintain proper records. Assist with inspections on machinery and equipment while in operation, diagnosing faulty operation. Periodically inspect and adjust or repair plant fire protection system, including alarms and auxiliary devices. Use hand and power tools and measuring/testing instruments. Adhere to all NFPA 70E requirements, including CPR certification for electricians. Qualifications Industrial electrician experience; electrical degree or equivalent certification preferred. Knowledge of PLC and drive configuration. Knowledge of Ethernet networking. Effective verbal and non‑verbal communication skills with a variety of individuals.
