This commitment is made clear by the superior meat and seafood specialty products we distribute.There's a seat at our table for you…What we offer:Medical, Prescription Drug, EFAP Benefits after 30 days of employmentDental, vision and other voluntary plansPre-Tax Saving AccountsProfit SharingFamily culture and career advancement opportunitiesPosition Summary:Implement a raw material audit support/evaluation program and inspection/audit process to ensure compliance of raw material products to agreed upon specifications for Halperns Meat & Seafood.Essential Functions:Physically and visually assess quality attributes (i.e. color, size, defects, mispacks, etc.) of raw materials against supplier specifications.Utilize email and/or an electronic monitoring system to submit claims to suppliers on products not meeting product specifications. Follow up with suppliers on claims.Work closely with the Production department, Procurement and/or Accounting Department to ensure claims are paid.The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.Cleans, trims, slices, and portions subprimals of beef, pork, lamb and veal for future processing.Inspects meat products for defects, bruises, or blemishes.Performs Quality Control checks and communicates with supervisors and managers regarding any defects.Uses knives, cleavers, and other equipment to perform meat cutting and trimming.Weighs meats and tags containers for weight and contents.Ability to work in various environments,Performs other duties as assigne d.Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:Ability to use personal computer and office communication equipment.Vocational - work content skills, special skills related to the job, knowledge of..., etc.Mathematical - arithmetic, measures, statistics, money, simple addition/subtraction, etc.Reasoning - comparing, classifying, innovating, analyzing, coordinating, copying, etc.Communication - reading (standard and technical), writing (business, technical, copy, etc.), speaking (basic, conversational)Human Relations - motivating, teamwork, interactions with others, relationships, etc.Self Management - self direction, distraction, repetition, prioritization, fluctuations in workload, ambiguity, etc.Equipment / Tools / Technology:Uses knives, cleavers, and other equipment to perform meat cutting and trimming.Includes computer, hardware, softwareOffice machines, other machines, including heavy equipmentHand tools involving manipulationMinimum Years of Experience:(Explain type of required or preferred experience)3 Years of audit and/ or quality control experience.
