Employment Specialist – Recruiting & Inside Sales

Location: Union, NJ
Position: Full-Time | In-Office

Express Employment Professionals – Union County is looking for an energetic, motivated Employment Specialist to join our growing team. This is a unique role combining inside sales, client relationship management, and recruiting.

This is not a traditional outside sales position. The majority of business development will be conducted from the office through phone calls, email outreach, follow-up, appointment setting, and ongoing communication with local businesses.

The right person will enjoy talking to people, developing relationships, working toward goals, and matching great candidates with great companies.

What You'll Do

Inside Sales & Client Development

• Make outbound calls to businesses throughout our territory to introduce Express and our staffing services
• Identify prospective clients and new staffing opportunities
• Set appointments and meetings with hiring managers and decision-makers
• Follow up consistently with prospective and existing clients
• Speak with businesses about their hiring challenges and workforce needs
• Develop relationships with hiring managers, HR professionals, operations leaders, and business owners
• Take new job orders and gather detailed information about each position
• Maintain consistent communication with clients throughout the hiring process
• Help grow existing accounts by identifying additional staffing opportunities

Recruiting & Job Order Management

• Recruit candidates for open positions across a variety of industries
• Review applications and resumes to identify qualified candidates
• Conduct phone screens and candidate interviews
• Match candidates to appropriate job opportunities
• Present qualified candidates to clients
• Coordinate interviews and assist with the hiring process
• Follow up with candidates and clients after placements
• Work with the rest of the Express team to fill job orders quickly and accurately
• Maintain accurate candidate, client, and job-order information in our system

• Strong communication and phone skills
• Comfortable making outbound sales and prospecting calls
• Ability to build rapport quickly with both clients and candidates
• Sales, recruiting, staffing, customer service, or business development experience preferred
• Competitive and goal-oriented personality
• Strong organizational and follow-up skills
• Comfortable managing multiple open positions and priorities simultaneously
• Professional written and verbal communication
• Ability to work independently while also contributing to a team environment
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced office where priorities can change throughout the day

Who Will Succeed in This Role?

Someone who enjoys sales but also likes recruiting and helping people.

You might spend part of your morning calling prospective clients and setting appointments, then transition to interviewing candidates, filling an urgent job order, and following up with existing clients.

We're looking for someone who is persistent without being overly aggressive, organized enough to stay on top of follow-ups, and motivated by both winning new business and successfully filling positions.
