Interacts with the physician and all office staff members to ensure patients receive timely treatment. Communicates effectively and supports leadership in attaining department goals.Essential FunctionsAdministers radiation therapy treatments accurately and safely, following departmental policies and procedures.Understands the function of all equipment, accessories, treatment policies, procedures, and protocols, and applies knowledge appropriately.Works with the Lead and Chief Radiation Therapist to develop new techniques and assists with emerging technology projects.Demonstrates knowledge and skills to meet age-specific requirements for the population being served in their unit, including infants through elderly patients.Utilizes the Quality Assurance (QA) program to encompass all aspects of treatment, treatment delivery, and quality patient care.Rotates to other treatment areas and demonstrates the knowledge and ability to maintain skills.Assists with orientation, teaching, and instructing new staff, students, visitors, and other staff members who are unfamiliar with the department or specific procedures.QualificationsEducationAssociate's Degree Radiation Therapy required or Bachelor's Degree Radiation Therapy preferredLicenses and CredentialsRadiation Therapist [State License] requiredRadiation Therapy [R.T.(T)(ARRT)] - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) requiredExperienceContinuous clinical experience 3-5 years requiredKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesDemonstrate efficient knowledge of all equipment operation, tools, and procedures specific to the assigned area, and effectively troubleshoot issues as they arise.Ability to establish and maintain effective interpersonal professional relationships with physicians, management, peers, patients, and their families.Demonstrate strong customer service skills, including the ability to use appropriate judgment, independent thinking, and creativity when resolving issues and conflicts.Must have the ability to handle sensitive and confidential patient information.Must be proficient in the use of the Radiation Oncology Information Systems and software and Hospital Information Systems that integrate with the Department of Radiation Oncology, including, but not limited to: ARIA, EPIC, ExacTrac, and Eclipse.Additional Job Details (if applicable)Remote TypeOnsiteWork Location102 Endicott StreetScheduled Weekly Hours0Employee TypePer DiemWork ShiftDay (United States of America)Pay Range$53.05 - $57.59/HourlyGrade6At Mass General Brigham, we believe in recognizing and rewarding the unique value each team member brings to our organization.
